Male Breast Reduction

Over-development of the male breast, known as gynecomastia, is a common issue that may cause individuals to feel self-conscious in clothing and hesitant to expose their chest in public. Male breast reduction (gynecomastia surgery) is a procedure tailored to remove excess fat and glandular tissue from the breast.

This leads to a flatter and firmer chest contour. The procedure often entails a mix of direct surgical removal of breast tissue through a small incision and liposuction.

In some instances, a part of the procedure may be covered by OHIP, though it's important to note that liposuction is not a covered service.

  • Scars are designed in a semicircular fashion around part of the areola.

  • The procedure is carried out under general anesthesia.

  • The procedure time is approximately 2 hours, with a recovery time of 1 week.

  • Upper body exercises may resume at 4 weeks.
